As the Economic Leaders attended the last day of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM), their spouses participated in their own program at the Walled City of Intramuros.
During their tour, the spouses were accompanied by the four Presidential sisters—Ballsy, Pinky, Viel, and Kris—who showed them around landmarks like Fort Santiago, Casa Manila, and San Agustin Church.
At the Fort Santiago, the spouses were individually welcomed by Tourism Secretary Mon Jimenez, with a brass band playing upbeat music. The spouses watched a short cultural presentation depicting a traditional wedding celebration in the province.
The Presidential sisters, spouses, and guests took e-tranvias to the Plaza San Luis complex.
The spouses were given a tour of Casa Manila, a living reproduction of a Spanish colonial house, and San Agustin Church, the first church built in Luzon and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At Casa Manila, models and actors enacted tableaus, while at San Agustin Church, the Hail Mary the Queen Children’s Choir sang “Musica Sacra.”
Lunch was served at the Ayuntamiento. Host Derek Ramsey introduced Kris Aquino to deliver a welcome remarks. After their meal, guests were entertained by singers Ogie Alcasid, Erik Santos, Angeline Quinto, and Matteo Guidicelli.
