Joint Press Conference of APEC Finance Ministers
The FMM concluded on September 11, 2015 with the launch of the Cebu Action Plan. During the joint press conference, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima described the Plan as a voluntary roadmap toward a more prosperous, transparent, resilient, and connected Asia-Pacific region.

Finance Ministers’ Welcome Event
In his speech during the welcome event for APEC finance ministers, President Aquino shared the transformation that the Philippines has undergone in recent years. Speaking on the value of cooperation, the President said: “regardless of the seeming magnitude of the challenge, progress can be achieved sooner rather than later—especially if we work with solidarity, coherence, and integrity.” On the Cebu Action Plan, the President expressed his optimism that it will help economies reduce inefficiencies and more effectively respond to disasters.
The signing of the Statement of Understanding for the Asia Region Funds Passport
With six APEC member economies signing the statement of understanding on the ARFP, the Asia-Pacific region secures a greater chance of boosting investments, raising incomes, and making economic growth more inclusive.
Unveiling of the CAP Marker
APEC Finance Ministers unveiled a marker to commemorate the Cebu Action Plan. The marker is a 4-meter tall sculpture of pounded brass on four black granite pedestals representing the CAP pillars. The work of Toym Imao, the sculpture celebrates the region’s shared commitment towards a more sustainable financial future.
Finance and Central Deputies’ Meeting
National Treasurer Roberto Tan gave the opening remarks during the APEC Finance and Central Bank Deputies’ Meeting on September 10, 2015. He talked about the Cebu Action Plan, and emphasized the need for APEC economies to intensify financial integration in order to advance intra-regional trade and investment and achieve inclusive growth.

Amid the ongoing preparations for the launch of the Cebu Action Plan, delegates and finance ministers had a chance to unwind and appreciate Filipino culture during the Finance Ministers’ Meeting (FMM) welcome reception held on the evening of September 10, 2015. Dubbed “The Philippine Showstoppers,” the cultural presentation involved a rich cast of performers.
